How do you sum up the life of a man like Bill McNaughton in a few short paragraphs? A life so full. Good times and bad, loss and gain, painful experiences and wisdom. A life of travelling to many places on this globe where he gathered a lifetime of friends.
He was a serial entrepreneur who didn’t waste more than two seconds giving a damn what anybody thought. From his TV shop in the 70s to his pinball machine business and arcade, Cardinal Amusements, to Barnacle Bill’s and his woodworking and carpentry escapades. “I was never afraid to try something new,” he would say while discussing his many ventures and complete lack of fear with taking risks. Hailing from Kirkton, Ontario. Born to Noreen and Lorne McNaughton. He grew up with his 2 brothers; Paul and Karl McNaughton and 3 sisters; Jane Masse, Joan McNaughton and Yvonne McNaughton. He left home in his teens seeking adventure and he found it. He joined the military and spent several years jumping out of airplanes (with a parachute, of course) and exploring Egypt and Cyprus. Of all Bill’s amazing accomplishments throughout his life, his daughters and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.
Cherished father of Billie Jo, Spike (Steve Piticco) Frankie (Jake Allison) Miki (Nick Myers), Lisa and Sandra. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Amber, Emillie, William, Aurora, Sawyer, Vivienne and Poppy as well as his great grandchildren Kyha and Nova.
His goodbye was always unique and so he would say, keep your stick on the ice, keep your powder dry and don’t take any wooden nickels.
Time marches on, but your memory will never die. See you again one day Dad! Three-da-loo!
