Vincent "Gerry" Bowers Obituary

With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of Vincent Gerard “Gerry” Bowers on June 30, 2025 at Napanee Hospital with his family by his side.

Cherished husband and life long partner of Margaret (nee Baker) for 57 years.  Loving father to Bill (Kelly), Doug (Sonya) and Joanne (Rick). Proud “Poppy” to grandchildren Tyler, Trent (Mikaila), Kirstyn, Matthew (Laura), Emma (Alex), Sam (Dalton), Bryanna, Hannah, Seth (Aisley) and Natalie. Loved and will be missed by his 4 great- grandchildren Tage, Lewis, Emilia and Berry.

Gerry will be missed by his brother Paul (Doreen) Bowers and sister Marcia (Bernie) Dewitt. Predeceased by his parents Sanford and Mary (St.Hilaire) Bowers. Gerry was a loved brother in law to Janice (Frank), Garry (Alice), Linda (Bert), Bunny (Bud), Harry, Rick (Brenda), Kenny (Tracey), Cathy (Dan), David, Patty (Jimmy). He will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gerry was born in Trenton, Ontario and was a dedicated, loyal employee at Benedict Proctor and Morton Parker.   He worked as a silver ware buffer for many years until he retired in the early 2000’s.  It was then that Gerry and Marg moved to Bishop Lake and met the Yearwood family. They lived a semi-retired lifestyle for the next 30yrs and never looked back.  They spent their Winter months at “The Florida House” and travelled with friends and family.

Gerry lived for his family and was the heart of the annual Algonquin canoe trip, family work projects, hunting getaways, fly-in fishing trips, family vacations, birthday dinners and the first one in the truck for the Florida house work program every September.

Dad was a hardworking and kind man who always chose to see the good in people. As per his wishes, cremation will take place at Milestone Cremation Services in Napanee. A celebration of his life will be held at the Bishop Lake Outdoor Centre in Cloyne, Ontario, September 20, 2025  from 1-3pm.  Donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

The family would like to extend their thanks to:
