Valerie (Dunphy) Inglis

Valerie Ann Inglis (née Dunphy) passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, in Marmora, Ontario. She was born on November 2, 1950, in Neil’s Harbour, Cape Breton, and grew up in her beloved Ingonish Beach. She moved to Ontario in her early twenties, where she married Ian and made a family with him. Valerie appreciated everything in life and strived to enjoy every day. She loved being by the ocean, listening to music and dancing in her kitchen while cooking and baking, feeding and fussing over loved ones, and spending time with her grandchildren. She now joins her mother, Agnes, her father, Sylvester, and her granddaughter, Finley, in eternal peace. She is missed and loved by her husband, Ian; her children, Candace (Peter), Jamie (Suzanne), Malcolm, and Michael (Jasmine); her siblings, Greg, Cathy, Michael, Mary, and Diane, who, although her best friend, was like a sister to Valerie; her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Henry and Charlie; as well as all of her friends and the many other people who were touched by her kindness throughout her life. May her kindness and selflessness inspire us to shine her loving light wherever we go in the world. Because Valerie’s loved ones are scattered across all parts of Canada, her close family will celebrate her life when they are able to gather again in person.
