Sharon Yvonne (Wiley) Woodward

Born August 1, 1947 at Belleville General Hospital. Sharon passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 17th, 2018 at Belleville General Hospital with her sister by her side. She was predeceased by her parents Douglas (1982) and June (nee Mitchell) (2009) Wiley. Also predeceased by her beloved husband and soul mate Gary Lloyd Woodward (2007) and her special furry friends Pepper and Pickles.

Sharon is loving remembered by her sister Valerie and her husband Byron Locklin. Their children Gerry Locklin & Janeen Wegner, Russell Locklin & Mirjana (Mary) Celap and Ronald Locklin & Angela Flindall. Dear Great Aunt of Gavin Locklin, Alyssa Locklin & Cyrus Locklin also remember by special nieces and nephews Rebekah (her son Eathen) & Jakob, Caroline, Britney and Brianna. Also remembered by her Aunt Jean Leavitt, cousin Tom, Lana and family. Special Aunt friend and mentor to Daphne Clarke.

Sharon was a Graduate of Ryerson University, teaching in Arthur Secondary School until marriage to Gary in 1976.  Sharon continued to work as a stenographer at Herman Fawcett Secondary School in Brantford until her retirement.  

A Celebration of Life at the Glenhyrst Art Gallery, 20 Ava Rd., Brantford, April 14, 2018 from 2-4 p.m.  Interment to be held at Stockdale Cemetery, Stockdale, Ontario on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 3 p.m. where Sharon and Gary will be joined together on their 42nd wedding anniversary, Memorial Reception at the Trent Port Marina,15 Creswell St., Trenton at 4 p.m.

Special thank you to Dr. Hayman at Trenton Hospital and all the nurses at Belleville General Hospital in ICU for those three weeks, to Matt and Shannon in palliative care for those two days and three nights of care, you provided wonderful care and comfort.  Also, a thank you to all of the Doctors over the Christmas that took the extra time to find out what actually was happening to my sister.  Your time and care meant a lot to me. Sylvia Davidson for coming from Brantford and spending that first long night with Sharon and I.  Karin Mann for being such a wonderful neighbour.  A special thank you to Kaye Clarke for helping organize the Celebration of Life.

I love you Sharon and will miss you greatly. Go in peace with God, your Gary, Mom & Dad and all the other loved ones who have gone before you and are waiting for you, no more pain or suffering.  Love, Valerie
