Richard MacMillan Obituary

Richard (Rick) Douglas MacMillan of Stirling, Ontario passed away on April 2, 2024 surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. Born September 23, 1946 in Ottawa, Canada, Rick was the second youngest of seven siblings born to Doris and Gordon MacMillan. Beloved husband of 36 years to Caron (nee Chiles). Cherished father of Chris (Carolyn) of Ottawa, Jordan of Kingston and Logan of Belleville. Loving grandfather of Ryan and Alyssa. Brother to Don MacMillan (Mela), Gail Wray and Lois Larade (Charles). Predeceased by siblings Valerie Coons (Carl), Kent MacMillan (Colleen) and Shirley Gordon. Rick will also be missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends.

Rick was an electrical engineer and manager at Northern Telecom/Nortel in Belleville. Rick was a musician playing (saxophone/clarinet) in The Coachmen and Samsara in the 60’s and 70’s. In retirement Rick was an avid audiophile, enjoying repairing audio equipment of all eras.

Rick was able to make friends instantly and his humour and wisdom will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
