Richard Howard

It is with broken hearts that the family of Richard James Howard announce his passing after a courageous battle of cancer on Monday, January 13, 2025. He was surrounded by his loved ones at his home.

He is survived by his daughter Jamielynn, his son Trevor and their partners Brad and Danielle. Step daughters Krystal (Tyrel) and Natasha. His grandchildren Jeffrey, Teagan, Tessa, Ryden, Rhett and Levi, his dear friend Kay and his beloved dog Ruby.

Predeceased by his wife Sue Howard, his parents Tom and Ruby Howard and sibling Paul and sister-in-law Violet.

He will be missed by nephews Jack and Paul and their partners Kelly and Chantal  

Rick was a very kind and genuine man who lived on his farm in Melrose. He loved spending time with his family and friends, friends that he has treasured for many years, Glen, Roger, Jim, Don and Ziggy.

He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, boating and attending his favorite music festivals. He was a very skilled excavator operator and was a valued employee at Gerald O’Neil Ltd for 30 years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 1pm-4pm at the Tyendinaga Recreation Complex at 363 McFarlane Road in Shannonville. Memorial donations made in Rick’s memory can be made to the Quinte Humane Society.
