Patricia (D'aoust) Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Patricia Smith at the John M. Parrott Centre in Napanee at the age of 92.

Beloved wife of the late Stanley Smith.  Predeceased by her daughter Debbie Thibert (Gerry). Loving mother of Jayne Bourgeault (Jean Marc-predeceased), David (Pam) and Shannon Hinds (Shaun).  Patricia is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jason, Steven, and Cory Thibert, Michael and Nathan Bourgeault, Jessica Martin and Dana Watts, and Megan, Sarah, and Cullen Hinds.  Her great grandchildren Zack and Nolan Thibert, Sam Thibert, Zachary, Lucia, Elijah and Owen Martin, and Addalynne and Everlie Watts brought her so much joy.  Patricia also leaves behind her beloved “Sis” Gerri Matte and was predeceased by her brother Jack D’aoust and sister Elizabeth Cooney.  Patricia’s nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart.  Patricia’s love and dedication to her family were immeasurable, and she leaves behind a legacy of love and support.  

Patricia grew up in Boland’s Bay, Garson and Sudbury, Ontario where she graduated from The Sudbury Business College.  She enjoyed a career as an administrative assistant and happily retired from the engineering department at Falconbridge Nickel Mines.  

In retirement, Pat and Stan enjoyed the tranquility of Lake Chebogan.  She cherished her family and would look forward to the many family get togethers and summers at “The Lake”.   The later years of Patricia’s life were spent at The Riverine in Napanee, where she enjoyed visits from her family, views of the Napanee River and visiting with friends.  

Patricia will be deeply missed by her family and all those who were lucky to know her.  Patricia’s love of gardening, bird watching, nature and her endless ability to create through knitting, painting, or arts and crafts has been passed down and is her living legacy.  

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Patricia’s life will take place at a later date.
