Nelson Proctor

We are saddened to announce Nelson Proctor of Deseronto, Ontario who passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022 at 86 years of age. Nelson was predeceased by his parents William and Martha Proctor; sister Irene and husband George O’Neil; brother Russell and wife Florence; sister Viola and husband William Gall; brother Philip and wife Ruby; brother Murray and wife Elizabeth; sister Clara and husband Ora Buchanan; and sister Alice and husband Earl Mitton. Nelson is survived by his wife Lee; children Kevin, Tracey and Sheila; granddaughter Jessica and husband Kevin Welshman; granddaughter Shadyn; and many nieces and nephews.

In his younger years Nelson worked in the lumber woods around Sussex, New Brunswick, where he was born. Nelson was a retired Canadian Air Force member and recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. He was an active member of the Deseronto Legion and will be greatly missed by his friends of the Legion Dart Club. He was a man of many hobbies and carved snow and ice sculptures every year during Winter Carnivals at several Air Force Bases. His many talents included wood carving, painting and furniture making. Nelson’s greatest talent was his generosity. He was always there with a kind word and kind deeds. He was our rock we could always depend on and we are heartbroken to have to continue without him.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Milestone Cremation Services. A Celebration of Nelson's Life will be held at a later date.
