Passed away at The John M Parrott Centre, NAPANEE on April 6, 2022 after a struggle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia at the age of 76. According to his wishes Cremation has taken place. He leaves his best friend and loving wife, Brenda (Bastarache) of 33 years. Son of Elli and Walter Keller, deceased. Brother to Bob Keller. Father of Linette, Vincent, Victor, Kyle and Kevin (deceased). Grandpa to Ronan, Quentin, Ashleigh, Kristina, Kyra and Mariah. Great grandpa to Nessarose, Lucina and Tyrion. Neil was a Nuclear Physicist at Atomic Energy of Canada, Chalk River Labs, while living in rural PEMBROKE where he enjoyed having a hobby farm and two Arabian horses. He was a graduate of McGill University, Montreal where he received his B.Sc. and University of Toronto where he received his Masters, P.H.D. and B.Ed. He was an avid reader and sports enthusiast and tinkered in woodworking as well. He loved horseback riding and enjoyed his time with Teakin, his brindle Great Dane of 10 years with whom he was an assistant instructor in Dog Obedience Training at the Champlain Dog Club in Pembroke, during the 1990’s. After moving to Prince Edward County in 2004 Neil began semi-retirement and for a short time worked as a consultant for Dr. Harry Ing at Bubble Technology in Chalk River and later he and Brenda enjoyed many winters in South Carolina and Florida. It was in 2009 he began a different journey which slowly took away his life, discovering he had Parkinson’s Disease and in later years developed dementia.
