Muriel Mimee, my mom, passed away Wednesday Oct 9, 2024, on her terms, with grace and dignity at BGH she was 94. She joins her beloved husband Bernie and son John.
Born 1930 in Montreal, dads job transferred them to numerous locations eventually settling in Belleville where many wonderful years together were spent.
Mom was a woman of many talents. Her handmade quilts were nothing short of a masterpiece along with her crewel embroidery. She refinished furniture bringing a neglected piece back to its original splendour.
Life long friendships and those she made later in life were very dear to mom. She saw the humour in situations, loved a good practical joke, whether on her or from her, was a confidant to many and had an opinion on practically any subject.
Her last decade was spent at the Parkwood Apartments where she maintained her independence and relished in the camaraderie of close friends. Her seat at the table for a lively game of dominos will be sorely missed.
Left to mourn her loss yet smile when reflecting on her countless antics are her daughter Diane, son in law Stephen, grandchildren Jennifer, Karyn, Nicole and Matthew.
My most grateful and humble thanks are extended to the exceptional care and respect she received during her last days at BGH 4th floor.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family burial will be conducted at Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
Mom you were my rock, I am the woman I am today because of you. I will love you forever.
