It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to announce that Michael (Craig) Bernardo passed away at his home on Wednesday, June 05, 2024 in Brighton, Ontario.
Craig had been living with and suffering with various cancers and very severe arthritis. He had been living with these conditions for many years. Craig was 75 years of age when he died. He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years Deborah Bernardo, his daughter Stephanie-Shie Bernardo and sister-in-law Denise. He is also survived by his mother Doris who is 101 years. At the time of his death, he was also survived by his only sibling Steve Bernardo and sister-in-law Gemma. Craig was born in Newmarket, Ontario and spent his years growing up in Aurora, Ontario. At the age of 18 his move to Toronto opened up a whole new life involving a lot of his favourite Rock and Roll and Bluegrass bands. Craig was also a master cook. After working at many types of jobs he found his career at Toronto Hydro to be his favourite. It was at Toronto Hydro that Craig found so many wonderful people to work with in his 28 years of employment. Some of the happiest times in Craigs life revolved around the care of and living with our many dogs and cats. Craig had a great love and showed great compassion towards all of our many rescued family members. He loved them all. A love of cars and all things mechanical captured Craigs interest for years. Musical sound systems were discussed at great length with his good friend Tim. Craig was a very mild tempered and gentle man who was very much loved by many. He is missed so very much.
