Michael Sanderson Millikin

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael Sanderson Millikin, of Napanee at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, after a sudden and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 63.

Known to friends and family as “Milly,” Michael’s kindness, humour, and loving spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Born on August 7, 1962, in Kingston, Ontario, Michael married his high school sweetheart, Janet Haycock, on October 1, 1983. Michael was the cherished son of the late Orlo and Margaret Millikin. He was a loving brother to Judy Pearson of Belleville, Cindy Stone (Terry Lyman) of Napanee, and the late Joanne Casselman. He was a dear brother-in-law of Tanya and Steve Eberle, Terry Celestini and Craig Yearwood.

Mike will be profoundly missed by his many nieces and nephews, as well as by his neighbours and lifelong friends.

He developed a lifelong passion for sports, dogs, and travel. Mike worked his way up to Human Resources Manager at Procter & Gamble and retired in his early forties. He especially loved his Friday night hockey games with friends from work and cherished the many unforgettable memories made with family and friends at Chippego Lake.

Michael lived life fully and without regrets. He experienced remarkable adventures, including flying on a private Gulfstream jet. He chose how he wanted to live, and he chose how he wanted to die — on his own terms, with dignity and love.

Mike will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

An intimate family gathering was held following Michael’s passing. A Celebration of Milly’s Life will be held at his cottage on Chippego Lake this summer. Memorial donations in Mike’s memory to the Ontario SPCA – Lennox & Addington would be appreciated by the family.
