Leona (Baikie) Prowse

It is with heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Leona Prowse of Napanee and formerly Tsawwassen, British Columbia. Peacefully with the love of family surrounding her at the John M. Parrott Centre, Napanee on Tuesday 06 August 2024 at the age of 80. Loving wife of Peter for 46 years; and fondly remembered by her sisters Mary Doughty (late Ernie) and Marina Dennison (late Ron). Leona considered her nephews and nieces; Andy Doughty (Laurie), Julie Babcock (Greg), Nicole McLeod (Jason) and Sean Dennison (Heather) to be her kids and their children, Craig, Megan, Alex, Ryland, Jake and Graeme her grand kids. Also remembered by her nephew and niece Jeff Keate (Leicha) and Joanne Keate of British Columbia. Leona was predeceased by her parents; James (Jim) and Martha Baikie of Battersea, Ontario, her brother Fred Baikie (Elaine) of Kingston, brother in-law Jefferson (Jeff) Keate and sister in-law Barbara Keate of British Columbia. Leona loved music; she was a Director of Music at the Tsawwassen United Church, a piano teacher, a church organist, and a former member of the Sweet Adelines. The family appreciated all the support and wish to thank the staff at the John M. Parrott Centre for their wonderful care. Cremation has taken place with Milestone Cremation Services and a private family gathering will occur at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church (Napanee) or The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation.
