In Loving Memory of Kent “Johnny Mango” Sonnenburg

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kent Sonnenburg on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Kingston General Hospital, at the age of 54.

Beloved son of Michael Sonnenburg and his mother, the late Judy Sonnenburg.  Cherished brother of Cathy Sonnenburg. Proud father of Taja Farrell-Sonnenburg, Isabella Farrell-Sonnenburg, and Connor Farrell-Sonnenburg. Forever missed by friends and extended family, both blood related and chosen.

Kent, also known by the nickname “Johnny Mango,” was a creative spirit whose heart was full of imagination. He had a deep passion for art and comics, and dreamed of creating his own series, with the main character, Johnny Mango, a reflection of his great sense of humour, warmth, and unique spark. His creativity and gentle soul touched everyone around him, and his light will continue to shine through the memories he left behind. Though his pages remain unfinished, the story of his life will live on.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Celebration of life will be at a later date. If desired, donations can be made to P.O.E.T (Peer Outreach Empowerment Team in Kingston Ontario) or the Salvation Army in Kingston.
