It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Katherine Elizabeth Mills, of Milford. Kathy entered into rest on June 15th at the age of 70, surrounded by her loved ones.
Kathy was the beloved wife and constant companion of the late George Peck of 50 years. She was the loving mother of Dean (Danielle), Kelly (Aaron), and Crystal (Ethan). Proud Nanny to Josh, Mikayla (Evan), Ryan (Alannah), Evan and Caydie.
Kathy will be dearly missed by her sisters, brothers, sister/brother in-laws, many nieces and nephews. Kathy was one of 17 children to Erma and Clayton Mills and grew up on Big Island. While her life was certainly never quiet, she was always surrounded by loved ones, and always taking care of her family. Kathy enjoyed the simpler things of life; whether that was playing a game of cards with her family, canning, baking, painting, enjoying the outdoors, or chatting on the phone with her beloved sisters; Teresa, Bonnie and Stella. Kathy was an amazing homemaker, and if you ever visited her home, you would always leave with a full stomach, leftovers and a warm heart.
Kathy showed so much resilience, positivity, determination and humour through the last of her life. Over the last year, Kathy endured a leg amputation, however, this did not slow her down. Once she able, she was up with her prosthetic cooking a big family meal, outside tending to her plants.
Kathy had a love for life and valued family, quality time and a good laugh. Her qualities will continue to shine through her children and grandchildren. In memory of Kathy donations to The War Amps and the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. A celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at a later date.
