Josephine (Jo)  Carpenter (nee Moore)

1940 - 2025

Josephine Carpenter, born on June 7, 1940, in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness from Alzheimer's on August 17, 2025, at the age of 85. For 65 years, Josephine shared a devoted marriage with her husband, James Allan Carpenter. Together they built a life grounded  in mutual strength and enduring love, raising a family that brought them great joy.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Cheryl Hepditch (Craig) and Karen Carpenter.  Josephine was a proud grandmother to  Michael Martin, Mathew Martin and Cory Carpenter, and her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Aaden, Alexis, Emma and Aria. Pre-deceased by her parents Fred and Kathleen; siblings Edward, Helen, Bill, Reginald, Freddie, Bob, Marg and Mary. She also leaves to mourn, her sister Joan and Barb, and her brother Gerald.

The values she carried from her early days in St. John’s remained with her throughout every chapter of life - evident in the time she shared with loved ones and the strength she offered to those around her. May the Lord welcome Josephine into eternal peace.  Her memory will continue to bring comfort to all who knew her.
