James Horner passed away on January 19, 2026, in Napanee, Ontario, at the age of 35. Born on October 14, 1990, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, James brought his unique spirit and mechanical curiosity into the world from an early age.
James had a lifelong passion for all things mechanical. Whether it was trucks, cars, or anything with a motor, he found joy in tinkering and understanding how things worked. His hands were rarely still—always fixing, building, or exploring the inner workings of machines. This love for mechanics was more than a hobby; it was a defining part of who he was.
Among his greatest companions was his beloved dog Daisy. Their bond was deep and enduring, and she remained faithfully by his side through many chapters of his life.
James is deeply mourned by his mother Linda Horner; his father Peter Haaksman; his sister Ali Horner; his nephew Connor Dodds; and his nieces Claire and Emily Dodds, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. James was a grandson to the late Yvonne and Norval Horner, and grandparents Annie and Jan Haaksman.
James will be dearly missed by his family, friends, his dog Daisy, and all who knew him. He was taken suddenly and far too soon. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and inspiration to those who shared in his passions.
Celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 15th, 2026, 2pm - 5pm at the Napanee Legion Branch 137.
