It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ivan Edward Brooks on April 16, 2026, at the age of 72.
Ivan is reunited with his beloved wife, Janette Brooks, as well as his siblings Jerry, Gloria, David, Richard, and Kate, all predeceased. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Robert and Adrian.
A devoted father, Ivan leaves behind his children Danielle, Anthony, Justin, and Ashley, who will forever cherish his memory. He was a proud grandfather to Breeanna, Blaine, Rosemarie, Oliver, Bentley, Sadie, and Titanya, Natalie and a great-grandfather to Annaliese, Melody, and David.
Ivan will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, including Tina, Tammy, Archie, Jeremy, Terry, Sharrese, Adam, Debbie, Ciji, Mitchell, and many more extended family members.
Known for his sharp wit and sarcastic sense of humor, Ivan was a man who spoke his mind and didn’t tolerate nonsense—but beneath that tough exterior was a deeply loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. He had a passion for the outdoors and cherished time spent hunting and fishing, especially during his younger years adventuring with his Uncle Ron.
Ivan shared a special bond with his uncle, who passed on April 5, 2026. The two of them were well known for causing a bit of mischief wherever they went, often earning a scolding from Janette. Those moments, full of laughter and trouble, are memories that will be treasured forever.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 12:00pm to 4pm at the Tweed Lions Club.
