Passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026 at the age of 89.
Helen leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and a deep devotion to her family. Helen was born July 27, 1936 in Bellefontaine, ON, where she later met the love of her life Bill Somerville. Helen and Bill were married for 72 years and raised 6 daughter's and 1 son. They raised their family in Erin for a short time and later moved to Marmora ON.
Helen was quite athletic and loved to curl and play baseball. Helen was an active Lioness for the Lions Club. Helen and Bill loved traveling, camping and attending jamborees. Helen's entire life revolved around helping and spending time with her beloved family and friends.
Helen will be deeply missed by her children: Margaret (Ed) Ney, Helen (Doug) Turpin, Barbara (Ray) Stanfield, Deborah (Glenn) McCoy, Larry (Janet) Somerville and Tammy (Jim) Maloney, along with many cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Helen also leaves behind her sisters Donna Donaldson (Russ) and Jean Archer (Ray). Helen was predeceased by her husband Bill Somerville, and their daughter Francis Joan Somerville, her parents and brother Raymond Burkitt.
