Harold Charles Treverton
December 19, 1937 - December 15, 2025
Harold Charles Treverton, born December 19th, 1937, in Belleville, Ontario, lived a life defined by quiet strength, and devotion to his family. He was a man whose actions spoke louder than words, and whose kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Harold was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Hazel, and his brother Clare (Elaine). He shared a lifelong friendship with his cousin Bill Bates,
For nearly 68 years, Harold was the devoted husband, and true soulmate of Catherine Joan Treverton (nee Parks). Their marriage was a partnership of love, respect, and unwavering commitment.
Harold was proud father to Carole Switzer (Eldon), Cathy Vos (Stephen}, Karen Bergeron (Michel), Susan Treverton-Bird (Mark), and Lynette Preston (Patrick). Predeceased by his son Steven Treverton (Debbie). His legacy lives on through his 14 grandchildren (Ryan, Daniel, Garrett, Tyler, Melissa, Kathryn, Sheena, Angela, Jacqueline, Joshua, Matthew, Bailee, Charlee, and Sophee), 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Together, Harold and Joan built a life grounded in their family farm and home. Farming was more than a livelihood for Harold, it was a way of life, that reflected the values he lived by every day.
Harold will be remembered for his steady presence, generous heart, infectious smile, and the example he set for those who follow.
The family offers sincere thanks to his grandson Matthew who stayed by his papa's side, and to the compassionate staff at Hospice Quinte for their kindness and support.
A Celebration of life will be held on January 4, 2026, from 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. at the Gerry Masterson Center in Thurlow. There will be a Graveside Service in Victoria Cemetery, Plainfield later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations to the ALS Society or Hospice Quinte would be appreciated.
