Glen Hayes Obituary

Passed away peacefully at home Monday, February 03/25 @ 4:26 a.m. with his best friend and wife Joanne Diamond-Hayes and his loyal fur kid Stanley by his side.

Predeceased by his father Willis Hayes. Survived by his mother Gail Hayes, brother Rob Hayes (Brenda) and sister Joanne Sprague (Rod)

Glen will be missed by his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and nephews.

Glen had many close friends but he had a special bond with his true “Brothers of the heart”

Dale Robertson, Greg Smith (Thims) , Bob Loyst (Bubba) Richard Ogilvie and Mike Schwarz.

We’d like to thank Dr. Kate Koester and her team Sherri Moffat, Heather Manoll and Mollie Whalen. We are so grateful and truly blessed for their care and compassion during such a difficult time. The world would be a better place if we had more people like them in it.

Glen worked in the transportation business most of his life but he was actually a “Jack of all Trades.” If he did not know how to build or fix something, he would buy a book or learn from the university of YouTube. He designed and built his own cabinetry, pergola and whatever his wife saw on Pinterest.

But his true passion was his love of Art and creating his own masterpieces. His love of all genres of music was displayed in his extensive vinyl collection. His favourite pastime was fishing and would do so every chance he got. He was a dog lover and gave his whole heart to the dogs he rescued and treated them as his kids. Glen loved Hockey and was a true blue Toronto Maple Leaf fan. He really believed “this was their year! “ (every year) Go Leafs Go!

Glen was a kind, gentle soul and will be forever loved and missed by all that were lucky to have known him.

As per Glen’s request there will be no Funeral but there will be a celebration of his life (big party) during the summer months at our home.

Fly high, be well and we’ll see you on the other side. Love you G xo
