DOUGLAS ALFRED SPEARING
FEB 02 1941 – JAN 22 2021
Doug died peacefully at The John M. Parrott Centre, just short of his 80th birthday.
Doug was born in Geraldton Ontario, spent most of his years living in Westbrook, Kingston and Napanee, and was known for his vast knowledge of the history and geography that surrounds the region.
An artist, hair stylist, and adventurer, Doug loved his horses and his cats. An avid Formula1 fan, he loved all manner of cars, motorcycles and bicycles. When not at work, he enjoyed exploring the outdoors and could often be seen around town on his bicycle.
Long time barber and hairdresser, Doug will be greatly missed by his many customers and friends. He worked for many years at Classic Cuts (Napanee), HAIR (Kingston) and Harrington’s (Napanee). Doug was passionate about his profession even after retirement.
Doug will be sadly missed by his partner of 43 years, Janice Samwell, her daughter Kiersten Samwell (Toronto) and his beloved son Jody (Tracy Shwetz) of Vancouver.
We would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Parrott Centre for all their kindness and care. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no service will be held.
