Obituary
Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle surrounded by family and nature at home in Campbellford on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the age of 78. Doug will be forever missed by his devoted wife Bonnie of 38 years. Cherished father of Jack Merry (JoAnne) of Cobourg, Mike Nixon (Anesha) of St. Charles, Earl Merry (Jackie) of Newfoundland, Michelle Merry (Adam) of Port Hope, Michelle Kellow (Kevin) of Douro-Dummer, Matthew Nixon of Port Hope and James Merry (Amanda) of Pembroke. He will be lovingly remembered by his several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Beloved brother of Peggy Martin of Newmarket and Dorothy Dennis of British Columbia. Doug will be forever missed by his nieces, nephews many special friends and other relatives. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Dorothy Merry and his brother Jim Merry. Arrangements have been entrusted to Milestone Cremation Services, Napanee. Memorial donations made in Doug’s memory to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) – KHSC Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated by the family.
