Audrey "Joan" Turner Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom, Joan on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at the age of 90.

Predeceased by her beloved husband John. Cherished mom of Kim (Loretta) and John (Allanna). She will be lovingly remembered by her 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren as well as her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Survived by sister Bev (Roy) and brother-in-law Al (Bunny). Predeceased by her parents John and Annie Ball, her brothers Alan (Marg), Jack (Evelyn) and her 2 infant babies.

Mom was born in Ottawa on February 17, 1935. She excelled in school and music. She met dad in Carleton Place, and soon began a long and beautiful marriage. Mom became a teacher, mostly working with kindergarten children. She had many wonderful years at Barrhaven Public School. After dad retired, they built a home in Prince Edward County, and went on some epic trips. Mom enjoyed being part of the local arts community. With mom’s happy demeanor, she made many dear friends, first in Ottawa, and then Peat’s Point, Wellington on the Lake, Pleasant Bay and then finally The Wellings, Picton. Mom loved to play piano for the Sunday morning group at The Wellings.

Mom battled stage 4 cancer over the last 2 years, enduring so much without a single complaint. Her bravery and courage have been an inspiration to us all.

We will miss you so much Mom. Forever in our hearts.

Thank you for the excellent care mom received at the Kingston Cancer Centre. Also, to Palliative Care and Family Health Services.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Wellington Anglican Church on Saturday January 7, 2026 at 1pm. Details will be announced. If you wish, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Back the Build or the charity of your choice. Online condolences, photos and memories can be shared at www.milestonecremation.ca.
