Linda Gail (Barry) Smith

Passed peacefully surrounded by those who loved her in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 2. She was born in Trenton, Ontario, daughter of the late Hamilton “Scotty” and Nellie Barry. Linda married the love of her life, Herb Smith and during their nearly 57 years together had three beautiful daughters, Virginia (Dan), Cindy (Rod), and Kimmy (Kevin).
She was a dedicated employee at Erie Tech for 21 years and an inspiration as an avid aerobics instructor at Copperfields Fitness. A genuinely selfless and compassionate human being, she exuded goodness to all around her. She was fond of the sun on her face, the birds and rabbits in her garden and a cup of Tim Horton’s coffee. She championed the accomplishments of her family and supported them through all of life’s pursuits.
She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Amanda, Megan, Rachael, Jay, Austin and Connor and great-grandchildren Ella, Quinn, Teddy, Penelope, and Emersyn. She leaves behind her younger brother Doug, sister-in-law Doris, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends who always held a special place in her heart.
She was predeceased by her parents, brothers David and Harry, and grandson Herbert Joseph.
A celebration of life will be held in her honor on July 14 from 10am-2pm at Trent Port Marina, Trenton, ON.
