Anne Yearwood

YEARWOOD, Anne (Mair) Peacefully, at the Belleville General Hospital on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Pre-deceased by her much loved husband Gordon
Yearwood. Survived by daughters Rebecca Muir (Jim), Linda Hebden (Terry, deceased) and son Robert Yearwood. Dearly loved Nan of her grandchildren Trevor Muir, Ryan Muir, Christopher Hebden, and Jeremy Yearwood and wife Crystal. Special Great Nana to Madelyn Muir, Jasmyn Muir, Jade Muir, Gavin Muir, Adam Hebden, Bodhi Yearwood. Much loved Aunt of Lilian Long (nee Mair) and husband Jim Long of Stirling Ontario. Pre-deceased by sisters and brothers in Scotland and California. Anne was in our eyes such a special and much loved Mom, Nan and Great Nana.

She arrived in Canada as a war bride having met her late husband Gordon in the little town of Darvel in Ayreshire Scotland. She travelled to Canada by boat and train with infant Rebecca in her arms. We all as we grew thought how incredibly brave she was to undertake this journey by herself to a country she knew nothing about but loved her late husband so much she had no reservations about the trip. She was welcomed and was enveloped by her new Canadian family. On arrival she and Gordon temporarily set up home at 40 College Street West in Belleville with her new mother-in-law. In time they built a home on Lane Avenue in Belleville on a lot just behind 40 College St. West. Both of these residences are no longer there and on the site is the retirement residence of Quinte Gardens, Anne's residence for the last 3 years. She came full circle in Canada, retiring to the same location she arrived at in Canada when she was only 21 years old. She will be dearly remembered and missed by all her family here in Canada,  and nieces and nephews in Scotland and England.

Cremation has taken place with Milestone Cremation Services, Napanee. A private family service will take place in the spring. Friends desiring may contribute in her memory to the charity of your choice. Online condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.milestonecremation.ca
